No. 18 Poppy Bank Toyota Supra News and Notes

  • · HEMRIC AT ROAD AMERICA: Daniel Hemric has posted one top-five finish in three NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Road America. His third-place run came at the track in 2018. The Kannapolis, North Carolina native has also picked up two stage wins at the 4.048-mile course, both coming in stage two (2017 and 2018). Last season, Hemric finished 35th at Road America after suffering a mechanical issue early in the race.

  • POCONO RECAP: Hemric and the No. 18 team led 18 laps and earned their 10th top-10 finish of the season last weekend at Pocono Raceway. After starting sixth, he quickly worked his way up to second and eventually grabbed the lead during stage two. Hemric was penalized for speeding on pit road during a lap-36 pit stop and rallied his way back into contention before another pit road speeding penalty forced him to have to make a late-race charge to finish sixth.

  • LOOP DATA: The No. 18 team’s strong season is evident in the Loop Data provided by NASCAR. Hemric leads all fulltime Xfinity Series drivers in laps run on the lead lap and fastest drivers late in a run. He also ranks in the top five in many categories, including laps led, average running position, driver rating, fastest laps run, green flag speed, laps in the top 15, and speed by segment.

  • POPPY BANK: Poppy Bank will be featured as the primary sponsor of the No. 18 Supra in Saturday’s race at Road America. Poppy Bank is a 5-star rated organization and is recognized as one of the strongest financial institutions in the country. Since opening its first branch in 2005, Poppy Bank has grown to over $3 Billion in assets with branches across the San Francisco Bay Area, Roseville, and Southern California.

  • JGR AT ROAD AMERICA: The Joe Gibbs Racing Xfinity Series team owns one win at Road America with Christopher Bell in 2019. Overall, the organization has tallied five top-five finishes, 13 top-10s and 135 laps led in 31 combined starts at the track.

  • TUNE IN: Coverage of this week’s Xfinity Series race at Road America is scheduled for Saturday, July 3, at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Talk about going back to Road America this weekend…

“Road America is a great racetrack and with how strong our Poppy Bank Supras have been on the road courses this year, I’m really looking forward to this weekend. Dave Rogers (crew chief) and my team have been bringing fast Supras every week and I feel like we’ve had cars capable of winning at all three road courses so far – just circumstances haven’t worked out. I’m really proud of the job everyone is doing and can’t wait to get on the track this weekend.”
