HEMRIC AT WATKINS GLEN: Daniel Hemric finished 11th and 16th in his two NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Watkins Glen International. In 2017, he placed sixth and 10th in the opening two stages at Watkins Glen and backed that up by finishing third and fifth in the first two stages in 2018. Hemric also made one start at the track in the NASCAR Cup Series (2019) and NASCAR Pro Series East (2015).
ROAD COURSES STATS: Saturday’s race at Watkins Glen International will be Hemric’s 15th career Xfinity Series start on a road course. Through 14 races on road courses, Hemric has tallied six top-five finishes and seven top-10s, including a runner-up finish at Road America last month and a third-place run at Daytona earlier this season.
NEW HAMPSHIRE RECAP: In the series’ most recent race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Hemric started 13th and finished in the top five in both stages before ultimately ending the day with a third-place finish. The result was the No. 18 team’s eighth top-five so far this season.
LOOP DATA: Hemric’s strong season is evident in the Loop Data provided by NASCAR. The 30-year-old driver leads the Xfinity Series in fastest drivers late in a run and laps run on the lead lap. He also ranks in the top five in numerous categories, including top-five finishes, top-10s, laps led, average finishing position, average running position, driver rating, fastest laps run, green flag speed, laps in the top 15, and speed by segment.
ROGERS’ RESUME: Crew chief Dave Rogers has been atop the pit box for 11 races at Watkins Glen between the Cup Series and Xfinity Series. He led Kyle Busch to a Cup Series victory at the track in 2013. Overall, Rogers’ Cup Series teams earned two top-five finishes, four top-10s, two pole awards and 146 laps led in seven starts at the road course. In four Xfinity Series starts at The Glen, Rogers’ best finish was seventh with Joey Logano in 2008.

I definitely enjoyed being able to get away and unwind knowing that we have an important stretch of races through the end of the season coming up. That starts this weekend at Watkins Glen. Our road course program has been great this season. We’ve had a couple really good finishes and a couple not-so-good finishes, but the performance of the car has been strong at all of the road course races. I don’t expect this weekend to be any different. Obviously, we’re going to have to race the same guys as always when we go to these places if we want to have a shot to win, but I feel good about where our team is at right now and I’m looking forward to not only what we can do this weekend, but what we’re capable of from now through Phoenix.”
