No. 18 Poppy Bank Toyota Supra News and Notes

  • HEMRIC AT THE ROVAL: Daniel Hemric has made two NASCAR Xfinity Series starts on the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. Both starts have resulted in top-10 finishes, including a third-place effort in last year’s race. Hemric also competed in the first two NASCAR Cup Series races on the ROVAL.

  • PLAYOFF PUSH: Hemric is one of two drivers to have top-five finishes in the first two playoff races. After finishing fifth in the opener at Las Vegas, the No. 18 team ran inside the top 10 for much of last weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway before ultimately finishing fourth when the race was shortened because of darkness.

  • TOP-10 STREAK: With their fourth-place finish at Talladega, the No. 18 team has now posted four consecutive top-10 finishes. That streak matches their best stretch of the season.

  • POPPY BANK: Poppy Bank will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 18 Supra in Saturday’s race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. Poppy Bank is a 5-star rated organization and is recognized as one of the strongest financial institutions in the country. Since opening its first branch in 2005, Poppy Bank has grown to over $3 Billion in assets with branches across the San Francisco Bay Area, Roseville, and Southern California.

  • PAINT IT PINK: Hemric’s Poppy Bank Toyota Supra is trading in its typical orange for pink for this weekend’s Drive for the Cure 250. To show support for breast cancer awareness month, Hemric and the No. 18 team will carry the unique colors to support the cause.

  • BLUE CROSS NC: Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina will be featured on the No. 18 Supra for Saturday’s race. Hemric, a brand ambassador for Blue Cross NC, recently participated in the annual Paint the Wall Pink program at Charlotte Motor Speedway and is helping to spotlight breast cancer awareness during the month of October.

  • JGR AT THE ROVAL: The Joe Gibbs Racing Xfinity Series team has earned two top-five finishes and three top-10s in nine combined starts at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. So far this season, JGR has won four of the six Xfinity Series road course races.

  • TUNE IN: Coverage of this weekend’s Xfinity Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL is scheduled for Saturday, October 9, at 3 p.m. ET on NBC, PRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Daniel Hemric, Driver of the No. 18 Poppy Bank Toyota Supra Talk about going into the ROVAL with a 41-point advantage over the cutoff… “We feel good about the position we’re in going into this weekend. You can never be too comfortable though, so we have to continue to run up front and execute. It would be nice to get some solid stage points early to get that out of the way and then go all out in the final stage to try to win it. Dave Rogers and everyone on our Poppy Bank team are doing a great job and that’s showing on the track. I am excited about where we’re at and hope we can keep that momentum going.”
