Daniel Hemric's throwback paint scheme for Saturday's race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway is more than just colors and logos for him and his team. He wanted to do something special to honor his lead mechanic, Charlie Brock, for his hard work and lifetime dedication to the sport.
Brock's grandfather is Red Farmer, who is a class of 2022 NASCAR Hall of Famer. Farmer won more than 750 races in his career and has four championship titles. After more than 60 years in the sport, he is still teaching young guns how it's done.
Hemric surprised Charlie with the Red Farmer-inspired paint scheme reveal by getting to the race shop before dawn so that he could be there when the cover came off the car. Charlie said he was "tickled to death" by this awesome surprise.
